We know visiting a new church can be intimidating. What should I wear? Where do my kids go? Who's going to be here? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel right at home when you visit.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE? When you get here, you'll experience a warm and inviting environment where you can feel completely at home. Grab a coffee or snack in our Commons area on the way in. You can check your kids in at the TurningPoint Kids area. Once the service starts, you'll experience music by a band, a personal story about life transformation or about people making a difference in the world, and an energizing, message from the Bible you can apply to your life.
WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS TURNINGPOINT? We're a Christian church, that holds to many traditional Christian beliefs. The place where we aren't so traditional is in how we treat people. We believe in authentic relationships. We believe the power of God can change anyone and any situation. And we believe that God loves everyone right where they are. Our motto is: Everyone's Welcome, No One's Perfect, and Anything Is Possible.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? As a new church that's less than 2 years old, we offer a small and intimate environment. We don't have too many rules! Our only dress code is "wear clothes." Most people dress casually—it’s all good! You are free to come exactly as you are, so wear whatever makes you most comfortable.
WHAT IS SERVICE LIKE? We start our services with a time of energetic and passionate music. Then we'll share a few announcements about what’s happening at our church through video and live communicators. There will be a message from the Bible with ways you can apply it's principles to your life. Our services close with a time to respond to God.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS? TurningPoint Kids provides an amazing weekend experience for your kids birth-5th grade. Visit the check-in kiosk where our team will register your children, note any allergies, and give them a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Later, simply show your parent pick-up tag back at the check-in area, and your child will be released to you. Our check-in procedures are state-of-the-art, and our trained and screened children's workers do all they can to ensure that kids have a fun and safe faith-growing experience!
HOW CAN I MEET PEOPLE? There are multiple ways to get connected. Attend a men's or women's event that takes place nearly every month; attend a small group that meets in a home or coffee shop during the week; or attend a Growth Track that happens during the month, where you can learn more about TurningPoint, hear our story, and find out how you can join in what God is doing in the world through this church.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR VALUES? One thing we do each month is choose a different cause to support. So, over the course of our 18 months of existence, we've supplied: clean water to people in Haiti, meals for moms and babies in developing nations, shoes for people around the world, medical supplies to villages in Kenya, and loads of full Thanksgiving dinners to families right in our own community. In addition to those causes, we've taken up the cause to support foster kids and families in our local area. This is a mission that's near and dear to our hearts at TurningPoint Church.
HOW CAN I CONNECT WITH YOUR PASTOR? Getting connected with Curtis is a great idea. If you wanted to do that before you tried out TurningPoint, he'd be happy to meet with you. If you decide TurningPoint might be your home, we have a process called Growth Track which gets you connected and lets us get to know you. Pastor Curtis leads Growth Track and that's a great place to connect with him too. Curtis' email is firstname.lastname@example.org
